Gangraped and murdered, an eight-year-old girl from Andhra Pradesh's Nandyal district has become the latest victim of one of the most heinous crimes there is. What's even more surprising is that the girl was gang-raped and later killed by three minor boys. After the murder, the boys dumped her body in a canal to destroy evidence.
The victim was a student of Class 3. Two of the accused, both aged 12, were students of class 6 while the third boy, aged 13, was a class 7 student. All were reportedly students of the same school. The incident occurred in Pagidyala on Sunday but only came to the public after the police arrested the suspects.
The father of the minor girl had filed a missing complaint at the local police station on Sunday, stating that his daughter, who was playing in the park, had disappeared. Police searched at several places but couldn't find anything. Gradually, they deployed a sniffer dog to aid in the search. The dog’s clues led the police to the residences of the three minor boys. Following an initial investigation, the boys were arrested.
According to their statement, the boys noticed the girl playing near Muchumarri Park. They asked her to join them for a game and she agreed. Subsequently, they took her to a secluded area near the Muchumarri irrigation project and assaulted her in turn. Fearing repercussions if the girl reported the assault to her parents, they decided to murder her. They later disposed of her body in a nearby canal and fled the scene.
